What protea Is
Protea is our Resilience Program aimed at identifying and addressing the adverse effects of climate change on communities and ecosystems. This program is designed to enhance the resilience of vulnerable populations and ecosystems against the impacts of climate change and build their adaptive capacity to cope with present and future risks.
The program works with diverse stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions, ranging from individual households, local communities, to national-level adaptation. We foster cooperation among governments, civil society and the private sector to create a collective response to climate change resilience and adaptation
The specific goals and strategies of protea resilience program elements include:
Capacity building: Providing education and training to stakeholders to increase their capacity to understand and respond to climate change risks.promote community participation and empowerment.
Adaptation planning: Developing plans and implementing measures to build resilience to climate impacts, such as improving infrastructure, enhancing natural ecosystems, and promoting sustainable land use practices and training programs for farmers on climate-smart agriculture technologies and practices.
Risk assessment: A thorough assessment of the potential disaster occurrence on the local environment. We take measures such as the use of early warning systems, training and preparedness, response and recovery.
